I just wanted to tell you that this morning,
fueled by my Day Zero motivation, I got up before the sun.
I went for a run. In the rain.
I've told myself every single morning that I was going to do this for about a year.
I failed to get out of bed (on much more pleasant mornings) over 365 times.
But today I actually did.
Somewhere between listening to U2 and singing Lady Gaga to a field full of cows, I realized something.
It's not supposed to be easy.
I know this seems so generic. But it finally clicked for me.
If being that fabulous person you want to be was easy then everyone would be fabulous,
and you would have nothing to be proud of when you accomplished something.
What separates you from your role model?
And with that I'll leave you with a little inspirational music....
Oh and ps. For those of you who are following my unemployment saga, today I worked for the first time since December last year! It was really hard minimum wage work at the University where Nick works, but at least I finally made some money on my own. Hopefully it will cover that lil shopping spree I took myself on yesterday...
YAY shopping spree!!
ReplyDeletewhat separates me from my role model . . . a lot and a lot and a lot more miles.
YAY for getting out there in the rain! Awesome.
good job friend...i don't think i've done a rain run yet. since my role model is emz, there are only a few miles and muscles separating us.
ReplyDeleteEMz who the hell is YOUR role model? I can't imagine you being separated by someone with miles.
ReplyDeleteKera - good luck on getting Emz's 6 pack!! I belive in you!
OOO I haven't heard this song! Nice! Perfect for running. and you're right it a'int easy
ReplyDeleteI lovee this post, and I'm so happy that someone finally figured out how to put this feeling into words.
ReplyDeleteYou go, girl :)
PS. LOVE THE COOKBOOK! I'm going to put it in a post sometime next week but I wanted to let you know!! Thanks!
You nailed it in everyway!!!
ReplyDeleteYou nailed it running, you nailed it writing in order to be great ,one needs to work on it!!
Really unbelievable in how you put your thoughts to words! You are motivating ME!!!!
You are a total inspiration. I've been lay-zee about my running. Thank you for giving me a kick in the butt.
ReplyDeleteAlso, so happy to hear that you brought home some bacon. Yay you.
ps: the add after your post read, "to get rid of problem geese" ?!?!?!?!
Problem geese?!? Ok so I am not a huge fan of these ads but I figured I'd give them a shot since unemployment has generally gotten the best of me. I feel like a huge goof though because now there are ads for things like pet urine remover on my blog. ohhhhh the life I lead...
ReplyDeleteSo right...not easy.
ReplyDeleteUgh I do the same. It's hard to stay on track especially when you get busy. Early rainy morning!!! Good for you! It's hard enough rolling out of bed on those mornings, not to mention running! :o)
Also Yayyyy for the job! :o)
