I'm going to talk about periods. I've been toying whether to share this fantastic product with you folks due to the fact that some people aren't cool with talking about periods. And there is the possibility that my dad or other menstrual-phobic men folk might read this, or even menstrual phobic women and they would be totally grossed out by the knowledge I am going to share with you.
But this little invention is the best thing that will have happened to your period since you discovered if you skipped those 5 pills at the end of the pack then you can avoid the po po on important days of your life or vacation. Also, I feel a moral obligation to my fellow sister friends to share this product that has changed my period for forever. Seriously. I don't have to buy tampons or pads ever again - think of all the money you'll save and it's better for the environment. I have zero leaks. There are no more awkward moments where I have to sneak a tampon out of my purse or accidentally pull one out in front of a dude while looking for a pen. There is no super uncomfortable feeling when you put a tampon in at the end of your period and you take it out too soon and it gives you a little preview of child birth. You can't get TSS from it - don't tell me you've never stressed about this. Furthermore it's comfortable, and I feel so fresh and so clean with it.
This miracle product is the Diva Cup, and although it has a super lame name, I suggest you purchase one immediately. It is a little silicon cup that you fold in half and you stick up your hoo haa and then it pops open and forms a seal so every thing gets trapped in there. When you need to (and I didn't need to more than once a day) you pull it out and you dump it down the toilet and you rinse it in some water and you pop it back in. Easy. Don't freak out about this. It's not as gross as it sounds.
I will admit that it took me two periods to totally get the hang of it, but now I absolutely love it. Just give it a try. At least google it for pete's sake.
You'll thank me later.

Do Bengals Care About Bengals?
My passion in life is endangered species conservation, and many people don't understand that. For those of you who don't get why people try to prevent extinctions, well I honestly don't think you'll ever get it. But maybe some people just aren't very informed about the subject, so I wanted to share this with you, especially my fellow Cincinnatians and Bengals Fans.
1,411 TIGERS LEFT IN INDIA!?! Does this make anyone else sick? I just don't know how we're going to explain ourselves to our kids when they say, "But that animal was so cool! Didn't you do anything to try to save them?"
I've been thinking though, fellow Cincinnatians, Chad, Marvin, Carson, the rest of the boys and Ben-Gals - why don't we do something about this?
When the tiger goes extinct then how powerful will our team mascot look? I'm not sure what I'm proposing exactly, a collaboration between The Cincinnati Zoo and The Bengals Nation maybe? Just imagine what a little Who Dey power could do for this amazing cat! Think about it - Paul Brown stadium has a seating capacity of 65,535 seats. Even an optional $1 donation with the price of tickets could probably raise some pretty serious funds. So who's with me, Bengals Fans?!
Please holler back in the comments section I'd like to know if any other nati people think this is a serious issue. Visit Save Our Tigers for more info on the tiger situation. And if you're not from Cincinnati, but your favorite mascot is also in trouble, we can talk about that too!

Riverford Organic Vegetables
Today we received our first organic vegetable box from Riverford Organic Vegetables. Don't let the name deceive you, they do lots of other organic stuff like fruits, breads, eggs, meat, dairy, and even wine. We heard about this on a TV show about local farming, and then I read about it again in a magazine. Basically its a website where you can order organic stuff and have it delivered to your door. The cool thing about the company is it's trying to get people to eat healthy fruits and veggies at affordable prices. Lot's of people argue that they can't afford to eat organic and its just kind of a silly rich person trend. So I put them to the test... have a look at what we got.
We ordered the "Seasons Vegbox" The contents of which change weekly, but this week it contained : 2 leeks, 1 head of broccoli, 1 cauliflower, 6 onions, 3 ears of corn, 3 different varieties of lettuce, and one sugar pumpkin.
Our fruit box contained 6 bananas, 1 mango, 8 apples, 6 pears, and 14 clementines.
You'd think that'd be enough produce for us... but I just couldn't help myself from ordering the "Squash Box" - and I'm SO glad I did. They sent us a crown prince squash (the pretty blue one), butternut squash, and I think the other two are carnival squash and kabacha squash. That little piece of paper helped me to identify them and it also has recipes for how to use them. I'm pretty sure I've died and gone to pumpkin heaven.
Am I the only person who thinks pumpkins are cute?
I also got two packs of veggie burgers as I'm on a hunt for a decent veggie burger in England. I tried these already and they're OK but still don't compare to my all time favorite Five Star Foodies Artichoke Burger, or even Morning Star Farms.... the search continues.
Now most importantly is this stuff affordable? Well, we paid 33.25 pounds for ALL of this. So I did an online shop at our grocery store, Sainsbury's, for the exact same things. Sainsbury's total was 34.41 pounds! So we spent less money, and got organic and fair trade produce. So take that and eat it all you "organic is too expensive" nay sayers!
